New Appointik Features to Help Clinics Respond Faster and Work Smarter

We are pleased to announce several important improvements to Appointik. These updates are designed to help doctors and clinic teams respond quickly to appointment requests, reduce missed follow-ups, and manage their daily work more efficiently.

🔔 Instant Alerts for New Online Appointment Requests

Doctors and clinic staff can now receive a push notification on the Appointik Android app whenever a patient submits a new online appointment request.

  • Receive an alert when a new online appointment request is submitted.
  • Tap the notification to open the exact pending request.
  • Respond without searching through appointment lists.
  • Notifications can work while the app is in the background or removed from the Recent Apps screen, subject to Android device and network conditions.
  • Authorized clinic owners, receptionists and assigned doctors can receive relevant alerts.

This helps clinics respond faster to patients and reduces the possibility of missing a new appointment opportunity.

Available now in Appointik Android version 1.3.49 or newer.

💬 Scheduled WhatsApp Appointment Reminders

Clinics can now prepare WhatsApp appointment reminders through the Appointik Android app.

When enabled for a clinic branch, Appointik creates reminder tasks at the configured time. When a reminder becomes due, it appears in the WhatsApp Reminders queue. The clinic user can tap Open WhatsApp to review and send the prepared reminder from the device.

  • Supports scheduled reminder timings such as 24 hours and 2 hours before an appointment.
  • Reminders are created only when the patient has provided consent.
  • Rescheduled appointments automatically use the updated reminder time.
  • Cancelled appointments do not produce reminder tasks.
  • Revoked patient consent prevents the reminder from appearing.
  • Each clinic branch can control its reminder setting independently.

Important: This is currently a manual-device WhatsApp workflow. Appointik prepares the reminder at the correct time, but the clinic user must tap Open WhatsApp to send it. WhatsApp Business API automatic delivery is not enabled at this stage.

🏥 Multi-Clinic and Multi-Role Support

Appointik now provides improved support for clinics operating with multiple locations and team members.

  • Manage multiple clinic branches from the same account.
  • Support clinic owners, receptionists, doctors and other authorized staff roles.
  • Keep appointment access and actions aligned with each user’s clinic role.
  • Configure reminder preferences independently for each branch.

🌍 Available in 20 Languages

The Appointik Android application supports 20 languages. Notification text is displayed using the language selected on the device, with English used as the fallback where required.

🎨 Promote Clinic Offers to Patients

Clinics can upload a promotional image through Appointik. Patients can view available promotions through the Offer option displayed for the clinic in the Appointik Patient app.

Clinics that need help preparing a professional promotional design can also contact the Appointik team.

📄 Prescriptions and Invoices on Your Clinic Letterhead

Clinics can upload a high-resolution copy of their letterhead and use it when generating prescriptions and invoices. This helps clinics maintain consistent branding across patient documents.

How to Receive New Booking Notifications

  1. Update the Appointik clinic app from Google Play.
  2. Confirm that the installed version is 1.3.49 or newer.
  3. Log in to your clinic account.
  4. Allow notifications when requested.
  5. Ensure notifications for Appointik are enabled in Android Settings.

Some Android manufacturers apply aggressive battery restrictions. If notifications are delayed, allow Appointik to run in the background and exclude it from battery optimization where appropriate.

These improvements are part of our continuing work to make Appointik a practical and affordable clinic-management platform for doctors and healthcare teams.

More notification capabilities are under development, including automatic removal of obsolete booking alerts and additional alerts for important clinic activities.
